Since July 1, 2012, China has enforced the new version of the Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water, with up to 106 new national standard test indicators. Previously, tap water only tested factory indicators, while the new national standard requires that the peripheral water and secondary water supply meet the same standards.
※ Basic parameters of pipe network water quality monitoring
According to the development in the field of water quality monitoring and the requirements of relevant national standards, water network management needs to detect the following water quality parameters:
1. Residual chlorine
Residual chlorine refers to that after chlorine is put into water, in addition to the amount of chlorine consumed by bacteria, microorganisms, organics and inorganic substances in the water, there is still a portion of chlorine left, which is called residual chlorine.
If there is no chlorine in the factory water or the amount of chlorine added is insufficient, bacteria, Escherichia coli and other microorganisms may multiply in the pipe network, affecting the water quality of the pipe network. Therefore, a certain amount of residual chlorine must be guaranteed in the water supply pipe network. Therefore, a certain amount of residual chlorine must be kept in municipal tap water to ensure the safety of microbial indicators of drinking water. According to the Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water in China, the chlorine shall not be less than 0.3mg/L after 30 minutes of contact with water. Except that the factory water of centralized water supply shall meet the above requirements, the water at the end of the pipe network shall not be less than 0.05mg/L.
In addition, if the residual chlorine concentration in tap water is too high, the following hazards will exist:
① It is very irritating and harmful to the respiratory system.
② It is easy to react with organic substances in water to generate carcinogens such as chloroform.
The index of residual chlorine requires that the water body should always be kept effectively disinfected without odor.
2. Turbidity
Turbidity refers to the turbidity of water, which is a measure of the reduction of water transparency caused by insoluble substances in water. Insoluble substances include solid particles (sediment, corrosives, planktonic algae, etc.) and colloidal particles suspended in water. It is not only related to the content of suspended solids, but also related to the composition, particle size, shape of impurities in water, as well as the reflective property and content of their surfaces. It is a crucial indicator for water arrival. The turbidity is reduced and the bacteria, coliform, virus, cryptosporidium, iron, manganese, etc. in the water are also reduced. The research shows that when the turbidity of the water is 2.5 NTU, the organic matter in the water is removed by 27.3%; when the turbidity is reduced to 0.5 NTU, the organic matter is removed by 79.6%; when the turbidity is 0.1 NTU, most of the organic matters are removed, and the content of pathogenic microorganisms is also greatly reduced. Especially for the water industry, the turbidity index is very critical.
3.PH
PH is one of the most important and frequent detection items in chemistry and an important parameter for uating water quality. Although it has no direct health effect, it will affect other water quality indicators and water treatment effect. Too low PH value will corrode the water pipe, and too high PH value will cause dissolved salt to precipitate, reducing the chlorination disinfection effect. At the same time, long-term drinking of water with low or high PH will also have a certain impact on human physiological health.
4. Conductivity
Conductivity is an indicator of the conductivity of solution. Generally, the more impurities in the water, the stronger the conductivity of the water. Therefore, the conductivity value can reflect the amount of impurities in the water body from the side; The purer the water, the smaller the conductivity.
